VR Escape Room

This is a virtual reality project developed in Unity that focuses on immersive environment design and interactive puzzle-solving. The experience places players in a futuristic setting where progression is driven by observation, spatial awareness and object-based interactions, emphasizing immersion and player engagement within a VR space.

Overview

Protocol: IX is a narrative-driven VR escape room developed in Unity, set within a fragmented cyberpunk-inspired digital simulation. Players awaken with no memory of their identity and progress through puzzle-based environments that represent fragments of their lost consciousness.

Through exploration, object-based VR interactions and logic-driven puzzles, players gradually uncover the truth behind a failed experimental upload process, with the experience emphasizing immersion, environmental storytelling and meaningful player choice.

Environment Design

The environments in Protocol: IX are intentionally fragmented and unstable, reflecting the player’s corrupted consciousness. Futuristic digital elements, visual glitches and minimal guidance are used to create disorientation and encourage players to rely on environmental cues during puzzle-solving.

Gameplay & Interactions

Gameplay focuses on intuitive VR interactions using motion-tracked controllers, allowing players to grab, activate and manipulate objects directly within the environment. Puzzle progression relies on spatial awareness, exploration and physical interaction, with no traditional HUD to maintain immersion.

Outcome

Protocol: IX delivers a cohesive VR escape room experience that combines immersive environment design, intuitive VR interactions and narrative-driven puzzle progression. The project demonstrates my ability to design and build an interactive VR experience in Unity, focusing on immersion, spatial storytelling, and meaningful player choice within a limited gameplay scope.
